Snowflake, the AI-driven data cloud company, has introduced a suite of product upgrades designed to help organizations deploy enterprise-grade agentic AI applications with greater speed and security. The company unveiled Snowflake Intelligence, now available to its global customer base of over 12,000 organizations. This new enterprise intelligence agent enables users to interact with and analyze data using natural language, seamlessly connecting structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data from multiple sources all within Snowflake’s secure platform.
For over a decade, Snowflake has been at the heart of global enterprises’ data strategies,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product at Snowflake. “Our next step is to bring AI directly to this data, empowering every customer to unlock unique insights tailored to their needs. These new enhancements make AI accessible to all, enabling employees at every level to make smarter, faster decisions.”
In just the past three months, over 1,000 customers including Cisco, Toyota Motor Europe, TS Imagine, and the USA Bobsled/Skeleton Team have deployed more than 15,000 AI agents across their operations using Snowflake Intelligence.
Leveraging AI models from partners like Anthropic, Snowflake Intelligence transforms complex queries into conversational insights. The platform incorporates the Agent GPA (Goal, Plan, Action) framework to enhance the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated outputs.
In addition, Snowflake introduced updates to Horizon Catalog and Openflow to further empower enterprises to connect data across clouds and regions, eliminating vendor lock-in. Horizon Catalog now supports open APIs from Apache Polaris (Incubating) and Apache Iceberg REST Catalog, enabling unified governance and streamlined access management.
Additional updates include Interactive Tables and Warehouses (currently in private preview), designed to provide real-time data experiences, near real-time streaming analytics, and integration with Oracle for continuous data streaming.
Following its acquisition of Crunchy Data, Snowflake launched Snowflake Postgres and open-sourced pg_lake, further enhancing Postgres integration within the platform.
Snowflake also introduced new developer tools to accelerate AI application development. These include Cortex Code (in private preview), Cortex AISQL (now generally available), Workspaces with Git and VS Code integration, dbt Projects on Snowflake, and Snowpark Connect for Apache Spark. These tools are designed to help developers quickly build, test, and deploy AI applications within a unified, governed environment.
Snowflake stated that these innovations will empower enterprises to unify data, governance, and AI development, driving faster creation of trusted, scalable, and agentic AI applications.
