SAAM Tourist has partnered with Netradyne to implement AI-powered fleet safety solutions across its network of night sleeper coaches. The collaboration aims to enhance driver monitoring, improve road safety, and ensure a more secure travel experience for passengers.
The collaboration will enable SAAM Tourist to deploy Netradyne’s Driver•i platform across its intercity bus fleet, enhancing driver performance monitoring and passenger safety. The vision-based system delivers real-time insights into driver behavior, including speeding, mobile phone usage, and fatigue indicators.
SAAM Tourist, operating intercity, corporate, and tourist transportation services since 2004, runs a large network of overnight sleeper coaches where driver alertness is critical. To strengthen safety on these long-haul routes, the company turned to technology capable of identifying risky driving behaviors that were previously hard to detect in real time.
The Driver•i platform issues instant alerts whenever risky behavior is detected and equips fleet managers with detailed performance data. These insights support targeted driver coaching and strengthen accountability across operations. The company noted that the software-as-a-service model helps reduce capital expenditure while delivering access to comprehensive safety metrics.
“In the past, it was difficult to identify risky driving habits in real time,” said Himachala, Chief Commercial Officer at SAAM Tourist. Following the initial rollout, the company is also evaluating the possibility of expanding the technology to its tourist and employee transport divisions.
The Driver•i system continuously monitors driving patterns and offers in-cab guidance to drivers throughout their routes. Fleet managers also receive detailed performance analytics that help reduce operational risks and highlight positive driving behaviors.
Netradyne, headquartered in San Diego with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia, has analyzed more than 25 billion miles of driving data. The company delivers fleet safety solutions to commercial transportation operators in markets worldwide.
Durgadutt Nedungadi, Senior Vice President for EMEA and APAC at Netradyne, said the partnership reflects a shift toward proactively preventing incidents rather than reacting to them after they occur.
SAAM Tourist provides transportation services across southern India, catering to both corporate clients and individual travelers. Over the past two decades, the company has grown from managing employee fleets and school transport to offering luxury tour packages as part of its expanded portfolio.
