Liverpool FC has announced a new global, multi-year partnership with PayPal, naming it the club’s official digital payments partner. This marks PayPal’s first collaboration with a Premier League team, strengthening its position as a leading payment platform for football fans worldwide.
As a global leader in digital payments, PayPal serves more than 400 million active users across 200 markets and supports transactions in 25 currencies. With its long-standing expertise in secure, fast, and flexible payment solutions, PayPal will elevate how Liverpool FC fans connect with the club—both online and at matchday experiences.
One key aspect of the partnership is PayPal+, the company’s new free loyalty programme that allows fans to earn reward points when using PayPal for matchday purchases. As fans accumulate points, they move from the Blue tier to Gold and Black tiers, each offering increasingly valuable benefits. Gold and Black members can redeem points worth up to 50% more at checkout and gain access to exclusive Liverpool FC perks, further elevating their matchday experience.
PayPal, which is already available across LFC’s digital platforms, will now become the club’s preferred digital payment method. With deeper integration, PayPal will feature more prominently on checkout and payment screens across the club’s ecommerce and All Red platforms, making transactions faster, more seamless, and secure for fans. PayPal branding will also be visible at Anfield and St Helens on matchdays.
As part of this partnership, LFC and PayPal will work together on initiatives that raise the profile of LFC Women and strengthen grassroots football programmes through the LFC Foundation. These efforts will support the development of young talent and contribute to growing the game at every level.
Ben Latty, Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool FC, said: “PayPal has long been recognised as a trusted leader in digital payments, and we’re pleased to welcome them to the LFC family. Their global expertise makes them an ideal partner as we work to enhance the experience for supporters around the world.
This partnership marks an important step in our commitment to innovation, ensuring fans can connect with the club in a seamless and secure way. PayPal’s support for women’s football and grassroots development aligns closely with our values and long-term vision, making this collaboration even more impactful.
Geoff Seeley, Chief Marketing Officer at PayPal, said: “Our global partnership with LFC strengthens our connection with sports fans around the world, building on our existing professional and collegiate sports collaborations.
We’re giving customers a seamless, flexible experience that rewards them for doing what they love—whether it’s purchasing the latest kit or grabbing a pint at the match and settling up with friends afterward. PayPal is the smarter way to pay for LFC supporters and sports fans around the world.
