Eyewear giant Lenskart is preparing to unveil its first AI-powered smart glasses by late December, as it moves toward establishing itself as a tech-driven lifestyle brand, according to sources close to the development.
The upcoming product, internally known as “B by Lenskart Smartglasses,” is designed to combine AI-enabled interactions, wellness tracking, and even UPI-based payment functions bringing convenience directly into daily eyewear use.
Built on the Gemini 2.5 platform, the smart glasses are expected to debut a few weeks after Lenskart’s market listing on November 10, though the final pricing details remain undecided.
“The idea is to merge AI, health, and commerce into a single wearable experience where eyewear goes beyond just vision correction to become a smart companion,” one of the insiders shared.
The smart glasses are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, a processor specifically built to support lightweight augmented reality experiences and AI-driven camera functionalities.
This development ties in with Lenskart’s collaboration with Qualcomm, first announced during the Snapdragon for India XR Day event in July 2025, where the two companies outlined their vision to co-create AR and AI-driven solutions customized for the Indian market.
Lenskart has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the upcoming launch.
Earlier, on October 31, Lenskart Solutions opened its public offer to raise ₹7,278 crore, valuing the company at around ₹70,000 crore (approximately $8 billion). The issue witnessed a full subscription on the first day and is scheduled to close on November 4.
Over the past year, Lenskart has actively invested in a range of AI, XR, and computer vision startups, strengthening its technological backbone as it looks to move beyond conventional eyewear retail. This effort is part of the company’s long-term vision to transform from a direct-to-consumer optics brand into a full-fledged vision-tech ecosystem player.
If the launch succeeds, Lenskart could emerge as one of India’s first consumer technology brands to bring AI-integrated eyewear to market positioning itself against global offerings like Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses and Amazon’s Echo Frames, but with a price and design tailored for Indian consumers, according to people aware of the company’s plans.
