Honeywell has announced a global strategic partnership with LS ELECTRIC to co-develop and market innovative hardware and software solutions aimed at simplifying power management and distribution for data centers and building operators. This collaboration will help enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and overall energy performance.
By integrating LS ELECTRIC’s advanced power system expertise with Honeywell’s strong capabilities in building automation and controls, the partnership will enable data center operators to efficiently connect power distribution with overall building management. This integration will help ensure optimal load management, enhance capacity utilization, and strengthen operational resiliency.
The collaboration will initially focus on offering joint solutions that provide data center operators with integrated switchgear and power management systems to ensure continuous, reliable operation of critical infrastructure. Together, Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC plan to develop next-generation electrical power monitoring systems that combine the AI-powered capabilities of the Honeywell Forge platform with LS ELECTRIC’s technical expertise and software solutions. These advanced systems will intelligently manage energy distribution and consumption while utilizing AI-driven predictive maintenance to detect potential issues early, helping minimize power disruptions and costly downtime.
In addition to power management and control integration, Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC will work together to develop a next-generation grid- and building-aware Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designed for commercial and industrial applications. This comprehensive solution will enable the creation of microgrids within critical buildings and facilities, helping strengthen resiliency and optimize energy demand amid rising grid pressures. The modular BESS will combine LS ELECTRIC’s advanced energy storage technology with Honeywell’s intelligent energy control software to predict and select the most efficient and cost-effective power sources based on utility data, weather conditions, and other operational factors.
Currently, data centers account for nearly 1–2% of global electricity consumption, a figure projected to rise significantly in the coming years. Through this partnership, Honeywell aims to become a comprehensive provider of building automation, power management, and electrical solutions — enabling data centers to operate more efficiently, optimize energy consumption, and enhance energy storage capabilities.
Our collaboration with LS ELECTRIC reinforces our commitment to providing smarter, scalable solutions for the world’s most critical industries,” said Billal Hammoud, President and CEO of Honeywell Building Automation. “As global demand for both data and energy continues to rise, this partnership brings together Honeywell’s automation expertise and LS ELECTRIC’s power system capabilities to create intelligent, efficient, and future-ready infrastructure. Together, we’re empowering our customers to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving, AI-driven landscape.”
Leveraging our extensive experience in power infrastructure and energy storage systems, we are expanding our global presence in the data center, commercial, and industrial building sectors — particularly in North America,” said JongWoo Kim, President of LS ELECTRIC Power Electric. “Through our partnership with Honeywell, we will deliver innovative and reliable solutions that enable major data centers and building operators to enhance both energy efficiency and system reliability.”
