element14 has launched The DevKit HQ, a new online resource that brings together evaluation boards, development kits, single-board computers (SBCs), tools, and technical documents all in one place.
A recent survey of engineering professionals highlighted that finding the right development kit is often a major challenge. Many engineers rely on these kits to explore new technologies before initiating projects. The survey also revealed that engineers place high value on standard interfaces and extensibility, frequently combining or modifying multiple kits to create prototypes and proof-of-concept designs.
The DevKit HQ addresses these needs by offering a single destination to discover, compare, and select solutions from leading semiconductor and hardware suppliers. The site allows engineers to quickly find the latest development kits and modular solutions organized by application, along with available demo and application software. Engineers can also easily locate evaluation boards that correspond to a supplier’s product family or series.
In addition, the site provides each kit’s datasheets, application notes, training videos, reference designs, and more. These resources collectively help engineers accelerate design decisions and drive innovation across a wide range of applications, including AI, IoT, sensors, wireless, motor control, and power management.
The full survey results are available [here]. The survey was conducted on the element14 Community and included 441 respondents between 28 July and 8 August.
Our mission is to make life easier for design engineers,” said Daniel Ford, Vice President of Sales at element14. “With The DevKit HQ, we’ve created a leading destination where engineers can search development kits by application, explore new technologies, experiment with the latest kits, and move from idea to prototype faster freeing up more time to focus on innovation.
