Azimuth AI, a next-generation embedded silicon chip innovator, and Cyient Semiconductors, a leading provider of custom ASIC turnkey and intelligent power solutions, have jointly unveiled the ARKA GKT-1—India’s first-generation intelligent-power platform-on-a-chip. The new chip is engineered to deliver high-efficiency performance for edge AI computing and smart energy applications.

The chip was officially unveiled by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister for Electronics & IT, marking a significant milestone in India’s pursuit of self-reliance and its ambition to emerge as a global leader in semiconductor design and deep-tech innovation.

Developed through a close collaboration between Azimuth AI and Cyient Semiconductors, the ARKA GKT-1 combines multi-core custom computing, advanced analog sensing, memory, and intelligent power management into a single, highly energy-efficient SoC. Tailored for smart utilities, advanced metering, battery management, smart cities, and industrial automation, it delivers real-time intelligence at the edge while maintaining exceptionally low power consumption.

This first-generation platform is powered by Azimuth AI’s Software-Defined Silicon architecture and enhanced by Cyient Semiconductors’ industry-leading mixed-signal, power, and low-energy ASIC expertise. Together, they deliver a flexible, future-ready silicon foundation designed to serve both domestic and global markets.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister for Electronics & IT, stated, “The ARKA GKT-1 demonstrates India’s growing capability to design and deliver world-class semiconductor technologies for critical global industries. This achievement highlights the nation’s accelerating progress toward self-reliance, advanced manufacturing, and leadership in next-generation chip innovation.

Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of Cyient, said, “The ARKA GKT-1 marks a transformative milestone in India’s semiconductor journey. Cyient Semiconductors’ silicon engineering expertise, combined with Azimuth AI’s breakthrough architecture, has resulted in a globally competitive, energy-efficient chip designed for the most demanding edge applications. This program is a true example of a custom ASIC turnkey solution where we partner with innovative companies like Azimuth AI to deliver cutting-edge products from design to fabrication, OSAT management, and final chip delivery. It reinforces our commitment to strengthening India’s domestic semiconductor value chain under the India Semiconductor Mission.

Praveen Yasarapu, Founder & CEO of Azimuth AI, added, “ARKA GKT-1 represents the realization of our vision to bring intelligent, ultra–low-power silicon to the edge. It is built to address high-growth segments such as smart utilities, energy management, battery systems, and industrial intelligence. This milestone validates our technology roadmap and lays the foundation for large-scale deployment and commercialization.

This innovation highlights India’s growing capability to design and develop advanced semiconductor solutions indigenously. It marks a significant inflection point for both Cyient Semiconductors and Azimuth AI, paving the way for continued breakthroughs in edge AI and industrial intelligence.
