Ashok Leyland reported total sales of 21,533 units in December 2025, covering both domestic and export markets. This represents a 27% increase compared to 16,957 units sold in December 2024. Domestic sales stood at 19,855 units, up 26% from 15,713 units in the same month last year.
The December performance also reflects a sequential improvement over November 2025, when the company recorded total sales of 18,272 units and domestic sales of 16,491 units. Both months delivered strong year-on-year growth, with November posting a 29% rise in total sales and a 32% increase in domestic sales.
Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles
The Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment made a significant contribution to Ashok Leyland’s December performance. Domestic M&HCV truck sales stood at 11,387 units, marking a 27% increase compared to 8,979 units in December 2024. This also represents a strong sequential rise from November, when domestic M&HCV truck sales were 8,576 units, reflecting a 30% year-on-year growth.
Domestic M&HCV bus sales reached 2,166 units in December, registering a robust 44% increase from 1,509 units a year earlier. The bus segment also showed notable sequential momentum, improving from 1,662 units in November, when it had posted a 27% year-on-year growth.
Including exports, total M&HCV sales amounted to 14,830 units in December, up 29% from 11,474 units in December 2024. Within this, M&HCV truck volumes rose to 11,596 units, a 26% increase, while bus sales climbed to 3,234 units, marking a strong 45% growth.
Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Segment
The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment recorded domestic sales of 6,302 units in December, marking a 21% increase from 5,225 units in December 2024. This was slightly higher than November’s domestic LCV sales of 6,253 units, although November had delivered a stronger year-on-year growth of 37%.
Including exports, total LCV sales stood at 6,703 units in December, representing a 22% rise compared to 5,483 units in the same period last year.
Cumulative Performance
For the cumulative period from April to December 2025, Ashok Leyland’s domestic sales reached 1,38,219 units, reflecting a 10% increase compared to 1,26,126 units in the corresponding period of 2024. Total sales, including exports, stood at 1,50,979 units, up 11% from 1,35,921 units in the previous year.
During the nine-month period, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment recorded cumulative domestic sales of 85,698 units, marking a 9% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment registered domestic sales of 52,521 units, representing an 11% growth over the same period last year.
