Google has rolled out the new Gemini 3 Deep Think mode inside the Gemini app, designed to deliver stronger reasoning and handle more complex tasks. The feature uses parallel reasoning to explore multiple possibilities at once, evolving from earlier Deep Think versions. Announcing the update on December 4, Tulsee Doshi, Senior Director of Product Management, confirmed that Gemini 3 Deep Think is now live for users.
The feature is currently exclusive to Google AI Ultra subscribers and is built to tackle advanced problems in math, science, and logical reasoning. To use it, subscribers can simply choose “Deep Think” from the prompt options and select the Gemini 3 Pro model within the app.
Google notes that Gemini 3 Deep Think performs impressively in key evaluations. On the Humanity’s Last Exam benchmark, it achieved a 41% score without relying on external tools, while on the ARC-AGI-2 test, it reached 45.1% when code execution was enabled.

Google has also introduced the wider Gemini 3 series, promoting it as a major step toward more advanced AI capabilities. According to the company, Gemini 3 Pro surpasses Gemini 2.5 Pro, OpenAI’s GPT-5.1, and Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5 on benchmarks like LMArena, Humanity’s Last Exam, GPQA Diamond, and MathArena Apex.
With broader multimodal support, longer context limits, and upgraded planning capabilities, Google says Gemini 3 can now handle a wide range of advanced tasks—including interpreting research papers, converting handwritten notes, creating visual outputs, and analysing athletic performance.
