Emerson, a global leader in technology and software solutions, recently wrapped up its System Design Contest 2025 at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) Research Park in Chennai. The event saw participation from nearly 400 students across top Indian universities, who were immersed in designing and building comprehensive test systems using NI LabVIEW and NI LabVIEW+.
Through this hands-on learning initiative, students designed and executed real-world projects across emerging technology domains, applying their skills to tackle complex system challenges. With support from Emerson’s NI-certified training partner, VVDN Technologies, the program also featured expert-led mentoring sessions and detailed project evaluations by specialists from both Emerson and VVDN.
This contest underscores Emerson’s ongoing commitment to nurturing India’s engineering talent and advancing innovation in test and measurement,” said Baskar Ceri, Managing Director – India, Emerson’s Test and Measurement business. “By equipping young engineers with practical, industry-ready skills, we are preparing them for careers in connected, AI-driven test systems while supporting India’s Skill India and Make in India vision.
We value Emerson’s commitment to shaping the next generation of engineers,” said Professor Mohan Satyaranjan, Professor of Practice, IIT Jammu and Chief Technology Officer, IIT-M Pravartak. “Initiatives like this drive innovation and effectively bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry requirements. Such programs play a vital role in advancing India’s Atma Nirbhar vision.
The top three winning teams were honored with certificates, trophies, and cash prizes totaling INR 3 lakh, recognizing their exceptional performance and innovative project work.
The System Design Contest 2025 underscores Emerson’s continued commitment to advancing skill development, certification, and innovation within India’s rapidly evolving engineering and technology ecosystem.
